LAVERNE IS IN HEAVEN!

At 2:10 am in this morning P.S.T., I was awakened to the sound of the trumpet.  It was a train. I laughed.  I said at the sound of the trumpet.   And then I said Laverne got on the train.  We sung the song for many years, THIS TRAIN.  This train is bound for glory, this train. This train is bound for glory, this train.  This train is bound for glory if you wanna ride you got to be holy… oh oh oh… This train…

Now the book.

And seeing the multitudes he went up to the mountain and taught them saying: Top of Form

When you know this was Laverne’s attitude… say… that’s my mama… that’s my …. grandma… my nana. my aunti…my friend, or that’s shonuff LaVerne…

Matthew 5:1-12 (KJV), consider these key points:

    • Blessed are the poor in spirit: They will inherit the kingdom of heaven.
    • Blessed are they that mourn: They shall be comforted.
    • Blessed are the meek: They shall inherit the earth.
    • Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: They shall be filled.
    • Blessed are the merciful: They shall obtain mercy.
    • Blessed are the pure in heart: They shall see God.
    • Blessed are the peacemakers: They shall be called the children of God.
    • Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: Theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
    • Blessed are you when men revile and persecute you: Rejoice, for great is your reward in heaven.
    • These Beatitudes highlight the values of humility, compassion, and righteousness in the Kingdom of God.

Chapter Three: In Good Hands: Ecclesiastes 9:10

10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Out of all the parts of our body, the hands are often the most used to assist us and others in getting things done. Especially when you want them done right.

When you think of LaVerne, you see her beauty… her spirit.   You see her hands.

How many people have felt the touch of her hands?  You sat in her salon… you ate in her kitchen… she gave you a hug… You felt safe… secure… You knew you were in good hands…

She knew what the scripture meant… as follows...

Commit your work to the Lord for guidance and success.

  • Approach tasks with diligence and a strong work ethic.
  • Seek to do everything with excellence, reflecting your values.
  • Embrace opportunities to serve others through your actions.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, even in challenging tasks.
  • Remember that all work can be an act of worship when done with the right heart.

Today, I leave you with the word that LaVerne was entrusted by God.  When He gave it to her to get done, it was in…. Good hands….

And likewise when LaVerne left this earthen vessel, she left it in good hands…

Sharon/David… in good hands… grandchildren and great grand children… in good hands…

No matter what we see in our world today, God has always left His church and His Creation… In Good Hands…. Don’t be dismayed… God’s got it…. and He has left it in… GOOD HANDS...

Song:  He’s Got the Whole World… In His Hands… He’s God the Whole World in His Hands.
